What Our Clients Say

  • I worked with Gars Edmisten on our kitchen renovation in mid-2025, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Our goal was straightforward: transform a tired Ikea kitchen, well-worn by a decade of teenagers, into something beautiful, modern, and durable. From the very beginning, Gars provided a thorough quote, setting clear expectations for timeline, goals, and budget.

He had a detailed calendar showing exactly when each subcontractor would be needed and guided us thoughtfully through choosing appliances, fixtures, and design features. Every crew that came into our home was professional, polite, and respectful. Even amidst the chaos of renovation, Gars maintained steady control, giving us confidence that the project would be completed on time and within budget.

Gars and his team are an absolute pleasure to work with. He fosters a real sense of teamwork, and it’s clear that his subcontractors take pride in their work. Of course, with any renovation, there are always surprises—but Gars was consistently there with context, solutions, and reassurance.

While I hope I never have to do another renovation, if I do, Edmisten Construction will be my first call. Thank you, Gars, for giving us our dream kitchen!

  • My name is Jane and it is an honor to speak about my experience with not just Edmisten Construction, but the owner and his family as well. I began a remodel of my home in 2015 with a different construction company. That construction company walked off the job on a Friday and demanded $30,000 more to return on Monday. This company left me with 38 building code violations and a feeling of complete despair. I was so devastated that I was considering abandoning my home because I believed it could not be fixed at any level. It was at the darkest hour that I met Gars Edmisten.

From the moment I met Gars, I trusted him! His integrity was evident from the very first meeting. Gars not only saved my home he made it his personal mission to create my sanctuary. The owner, Gars, has an “attention to detail” that can only be described as a gift. Gars’s associates (subcontractors), were the type of people you would want to have over for dinner. Gars had the ability to listen to my thoughts and ideas and then add the perfect elements to make them more than I could have hoped for.

If you are looking for a contractor you can trust, then you do not need to look any further. You found him! I am more than happy to personally speak to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy contractor who is truly gifted in his trade. I feel blessed to have found Gars and would never trust anyone else with any future remodel.

  • I cannot say enough great things about Edmisten Construction but more specifically about Gars himself. Simply put, I got myself into a very bad situation and Gars came in and saved the day. To put it lightly, I got in over my head and began a remodeling job on my own. After one night, I demolished the majority of my house and did not realize what I had gotten myself into. I began to panic as I was operating way outside my realm of knowledge…specifically the realm of “permits,” “special flood zones,” and new building codes.

Trying to understand what I had to do in order to become compliant was like speaking an unknown language and only created more anxiety. A close friend of mine told me not to worry and that he knew exactly who to call…Gars Edmisten. Literally that same night, Gars was at my front door and the first thing he told me was not to worry and that he would take care of me. You have to meet Gars to know that when he said that, it was felt with such sincerity and it instantly put my mind to ease. When it comes to dealing with permits and a remodel process, having a true partner is important; Gars was that partner. Gars came up with a game plan, a design, a budget, and stuck by me the entire time.

He is an outstanding communicator and is truly passionate about what he does. Everyone who sees my home is in awe and cannot believe the transformation as well as are amazed by the quality of workmanship. I owe a great deal to Gars and his company and will be forever indebted.

  • Just wanted to let you know how happy I am with the bathroom remodel you and your team did earlier this year. From the demolition to the completion, I found all the construction crews not only to be exceptionally skilled at what they do, but also to be incredibly great people-the kind of people anyone would welcome into their home. I was impressed with the plastic draping that separated the construction area off from the rest of the house. That gave the workers direct access to the job site and the homeowners an area free of construction distractions such as noise, dust and debris. All in all I am completely delighted with your help in choosing tile, wall color and other accessories and overseeing the job as it progressed. It was a great experience, a great and perfect result. I love my new bathroom.

  • Gars is just good people, from the moment I contacted him, you could tell he was the real deal!! He always provided prompt and straight forward advice, a truly honest and respectful guy (including very safe due to operating in our kitchen during Covid). The integrity of his advice and servile also transfers to the great people he works with, every sub-contractor was on time, professional, and great to spend time with. Gars was always available for phone and video calls t o help me along with our kitchen refresher, which was a huge bonus.

I always felt like the advice he gave was based on "the right decision” for me and my family versus some other competing self-interest or to cut-corners. His talents far exceed the pictures of his work and although we had a simple project, he still spent a lot of time to coach me along.

  • We hired Gars to construct a new addition bedroom and en suite bathroom to our house, and we are glad we did! This was a complicated project, which involved creating the new addition in the place of our existing water heater and furnace closet. We live on a steep hill, so there is a lot of empty space below our main level, which is where the new addition was created. In order to complete the work, Gars and his crew had to create a new subfloor below the new addition in order to even create the new bedroom and bathroom - and we may actually build out where the new subfloor is at some point in the future.

The two HVAC units had to be relocated below our 2nd floor, which was quite an undertaking. Being that we were in the middle of winter, we wanted the switch between our old and new HVAC units to be handled quickly to minimize downtime. Gars' crew did all the prep work needed in order to switch the units, and when it came time to fully disconnect the old units and turn on the new units, we were only without heating and air for a day or two. Gars hired great and trustworth subcontractors to do the work for the addition. From the framers, to electrical, to plumbing, to HVAC and painting - they were all great.

Gars was on site most days to coordinate all the work if not do some of the work himself. Gars is a great communicator and it's clear he wants nothing but the best for his clients. He personally cares for his clients like they are family. We would not hesitate to hire Gars again - which we are for another project - or refer him to anyone looking for a contractor for their next project. You can count on Gars to do what he says and construct your project with utmost care and professionalism.

  • I found Gars’ website one day and left a message on his website. Immediately he got back to me and we spoke on the phone for about 30min. He was very cordial polite and very knowledegable on the phone. Even before I even proceeded to accept his business he was so very nice, friendly and helpful on the phone.

Within a week he already started discussing with me about possible designs and shared them with me on the phone and through video. Throughout the whole process of demolition and framing and infrastructure fixes and appliances installation he was very thorough, very up front and very honest in his work. His attention to detail is like no other person I have ever met. This is coming from a guy who is very detail oriented myself.

I was very much impressed with his level of detail his level of design knowledge. Not only can he help you like a general contractor he can help you with the design aspects such as if he was an interior kitchen or home designer. His attention to details is immaculate and I can't say enough about the quality of his work. Because of Gars’ high standards and strong work ethic all of his sub contractors have the same level of workmanship and cleanliness after a days work.

Forget Gars the general contractor. Let's talk about Gars the human being. He is caring, kind, honest and throughout all of this I made a life long friend.

Children with their innocence know a character of a person well. When Gars stepped into our house for the first time to assess the situation my daughter took out her bow and arrow and shot him and played with him. She naturally gravitated to him and liked him a lot. This tells you a lot abot his character. Make no mistake don't take advantage of his caring and honest nature. If you want to hire someone for your home improvement project I cannot recommend Edmisten Consctruction enough.

  • We worked with Gars on our kitchen remodel. As this was our first remodel, we were very unaware of all the ins and outs of construction. Gars explained everything to us and was always positive and helpful. He is a pleasure and delight to work with. Gars has wonderful subcontractors and connections in the construction community.

His connections helped us pick out quality materials at reasonable prices. He has an eye for detail and always wanted to ensure quality work. We love our new kitchen and would definitely call Gars again in the future!
